Repair or replace your caravan wall?

A damaged wall rarely needs replacing in full. Here's when a repair is enough and what you gain from it.
When is a repair enough?
Most damage to caravan panels can be repaired without replacing the whole wall. Dents in smooth panels can be straightened and colour-matched, and even some deep impacts can be repaired and reinforced so the result lasts like the original.
Our starting point is always to preserve as much of the original material as possible. We happily spend an extra hour straightening a dent rather than simply filling the damage.
The HBC method for hammered panels
Hammered panels — the lightly textured surface on many caravans — have long been considered hard to repair, which has led to whole walls being replaced unnecessarily.
With the HBC method we can repair damage in hammered panels and restore the surface texture, shape and colour. That means the damage can be addressed locally instead of dismantling and replacing the whole wall.
When does a wall still need replacing?
Sometimes the damage is so extensive, or the material so weakened, that replacement is the right solution — for example with large through-damage or widespread moisture damage in the structure.
In those cases we're honest about it. Our assessment is based on what gives the best result and durability over time, not on repairing at any cost.
The benefits of repairing
Repairing rather than replacing preserves more of the caravan's original, which is good for its resale value. It's often faster, more economical and means less material use and waste.
