What does it cost to repair caravan damage?

Published 25 June 2026 · 4 min read

The price of a caravan repair varies with the type and extent of the damage. Here's what affects the cost and how to get a clear assessment.

What affects the price of a caravan repair?

It's rarely possible to put a fixed price on caravan damage without seeing it first, because the cost depends on several factors. The most important are the extent and location of the damage, the type of panel involved, whether the part can be repaired or needs replacing, and how much painting and colour matching is required.

A small dent in a smooth panel is often a quick job, while a deep impact or damage to a hammered panel takes more work. The availability of spare parts and how closely the colour needs to be matched also play a part.

Repairing is often cheaper than replacing

Our philosophy is to use as much of the original material as possible. By straightening dents and repairing rather than replacing whole parts or walls, we often keep both material and labour costs down.

For hammered caravan panels we use the HBC method, which lets us repair the damage instead of replacing the whole wall — preserving the original and usually working out more economical.

How insurance affects the cost

If the damage is an insurance matter, it's often the excess that determines what you pay yourself, with the insurer covering the rest. The size of the excess depends on your insurer and your policy.

We work with most insurance companies and handle the contact and documentation for you, so you avoid the admin. We also help you decide whether it's worth filing a claim at all.

Get an assessment of your damage

The surest way to get a price is to let us look at the damage. Send a few photos and a short description and we'll come back with an assessment — usually within one business day.
